Track and Field
Introduction
Learning outcomes: LO 1, LO 2, LO 4, LO 5, LO 7
For my physical activity I am training track and field competitively in Club Regatas Lima. Because of the pandemic we must use safety precautions when assisting training. We must all use masks and maintain our distance by staying in our own lane. I train here from Monday to Saturday for 3 hours a day and it is a place where I disconnect from all the things I have pending to do. Going to train helps me clear my mind. In track and field, the disciplines I practice are triple jump and I also run 400 metres. Since last year, I have been named as the captain of the team (LO 5). Each training is a new opportunity for improvement, as every day the exercises put into practice must be technically better. (LO1) However, there are exercises which I have a harder time doing such as coordination and therefore these challenge me every time and make me become the best version of myself in this sport. (LO2). This sport has teached me how to be a balanced person as I have always had to balance training with other activities and schools, and has shown me to persevere in training in order to achieve the goals I want; such as breaking new personal records and has shown to be committed as well. I know that even though some days I feel very lazy or don’t feel like going, I still must comply and persevere with this responsibility (LO4) as it does not only affect me, yet also my coach and teammates when participating in a competition. (LO7).
