Importance of Track
What does track mean to me?
I am a very sporty type of person as since little I have grown hand in hand with sports. I have done all types of sports such as ballet, gymnastiques, tennis, swimming, basket, volley, track, etc as I was not capable of staying put in only one sport only. Until, I started track. I have been doing track for the past 4 years of my life and there is no doubt that it is one of the things I cherish the most. I train track at Club Regatas Lima 5 days a week for 4 hours a day and it feels as if it's not enough. Sports has transformed me, making me overcome what I had thought were my limits. It has pushed me until the breaking point, and has brought along amazing memories. Thank you track for forming the person I am now. For showing me what commitment, discipline, responsibility, and teamwork really means.
My area of specialty within the sport is triple jump and 400 metres. Every jump and step I make means I'm more proximate towards reaching my goal, which is becoming as good as an athlete I can. Winning national championships, standing on the podium and seeing my coach, teammates, and parents clap and cheer is surely one of my biggest motivations. That is why I could never thank them enough. This sport has helped me value the people I have around me; always there supporting and cheering me to continue and don't give up. The pandemic has currently taken away a part of me, however I know that when we're back on the field, we will be stronger than how we left. |
